Couples therapy
-
Every relationship develops patterns - ways partners reach for each other, protect themsevles, or pull away when things feel overwhelming. Some of these patterns create closeness. Others create distance, tension, or a sense of being stuck i roles neither partner wants.
Couples often come to me not because something “big” happened, but because the relationship no longer feels like a place where both people can land. Maybe a conversations feel tense or circular. Maybe one partner withdraws while the other pushes for connection. Maybe intimacy feels harder to access, or small misunderstanding turn into larger ruptures.
Couples therapy is a space to slow down these moments and understand what’s happening underneath them - what other partner is feeling, fearing, and longing for.
-
Recurring conflict cycles: When partners get caught in the same argument repeatedly, it’s usually because each person is trying to communicate something deeper that isn’t being understood. We identify the emotional pattern beneath the conflict and create new ways of engaging that feel safer and more connected.
Intimacy & Desire: Intimacy shifts for many reasons - stress, trauma, postpartum/parenting, or long-standing relational patterns. We explore the emotional roots of desire, closeness, and vulnerability so intimacy can feel more natural and connected.
Trauma-impacted dynamics: Trauma can shape how partners respond to conflict, reach for connection, or protect themselves. We work with these patterns gently and compassionately, helping both partners feel safer and more understood.
Postpartum & Early Parenthood: The transition to parenthood can bring unexpected changes in communication, closeness, and identity. I help couples navigate these shifts and strengthen their bond during a demanding season of life.

My work is grounded in attachment and shaped by advanced, immersive training with leaders in the field including Sue Johnson, Esther Perel, the Gottman Institute, and the Integrative Sex Therapy Institute. This allows me to help couples explore the emotional roots of conflict, disconnection, and desire with nuance and compassion rather than relying on surface-level skills or quick fixes.
